We are pleased to have you consider our practice of Gynecology and welcome you to our office.  Our goal is to provide excellent care in a comfortable environment, with attention to all aspects of your well being.  We offer experience and an excellent staff to give you the attention that you need.

We are limited in scope to Gynecology, but offer a wide range of care, including the management of abnormal pap smears, menopause, abnormal bleeding, contraception and most other gynecological conditions.  Gynecological ultrasound and Comprehensive Bone Densitometry are  performed in the office.  No obstetric care is offered.

All laboratory evaluations, pap smears, biopsies, mammograms, bone studies, and other health screens will be done through AMC, unless patients desire otherwise.  Patients will be notified of all test results, usually by mail.  The failure to receive a note in a timely fashion should not be interpreted as reassuring.  Please call if you do not get your results.

Dr. Bourgeois does not have access to your UVA records.  If you saw him there, please arrange to have records sent.  Otherwise, if you have records to review, please bring or send them.

Every effort will be made to address your convenience.  If you are traveling and would like a mammogram appointment to coincide with your visit, let us know and we will arrange it.  If you bring your insurance information and co pay, the visit will run more efficiently.  Please let us know as early as you can if you need to cancel.

Office hours are 8:00AM to 3:00PM on Monday through Friday.  Although our office runs on an appointment schedule, we will make every effort to see women on an as needed basis in hopes of avoiding emergency room visits.  When this necessity does arise, however, coverage is available.  If emergency care is needed patients are advised to proceed to AMC emergency department.
